The Fiesta Theatre was on the north-west corner of the intersection of Scarborough Beach Rd and Joyce St. Scarborough Theatres operated this venue and the Waldorf and Gardens at Innaloo: in fact, there is some confusion over the names of the venues, both of which appear to have been known as ‘Scarborough Pictures’ at some stage of their history.
The Fiesta seems to have opened in 1953, though it may have been operating before that under another name. It was apparently a theatre first, with gardens added behind the hardtop quite late in the fifties, about 1958, with their entrance in Joyce St. It became a dance hall in September 1961 and then was used by the YMCA as a Youth and Community Centre.
