Photograph taken August 1956 showing front entrance of the Grand during a re-paint of the cinema exterior. The Grand was owned by Isle of Wight Theatres, who have their logo, I.W.T. on a silhouette of the Island either side of name above the entrance. Note the shoe shop opposite, a poster in the left window advertising Cherry Blossom boot polish, featuring two cats sat inside a pair of boots. As a child I remember this advert very well.
