JUBILEE THEATRE - LOWOOD ENTERPRISE - 700 at Official Opening.
A tribute to the business acumen of Mr. John Walters, sen, the Jubilee Theatre, designed and supervised by him, was officially opened by Sir Littleton Groom, M.P last evening, in the presence of a gathering of ap proximately 700. For district service in 50 years' residence Mr. Walters was highly praised.
The large building was specially opened last night for a dual purpose. It has been named the Lowood Jubilee Theatre in honour of the Silver Jubilee of the reign of his Majesty the King, and to mark the golden jubilee of Mr. Walters’s residence In the Lowood district. The theatre occupies a prominent position in the town. Its airiness and fine acoustic properties are important features.
Talkies
The talking apparatus, with the exception of the Kalee projectors, was constructed in Brisbane, and comprises the new improved product of the Sound Equipment Service Co. with amplifiers and sound-heads of special design.
