“C'est mauvais,” said Frenchy who moved his Nu Gulf Café next door to a tinder box called the Nu-Gulf Theatre. Less than a month later, the Nu-Gulf blew up and took the Café along with it in October of 1936. Frenchy said, “J'espère que mon assurance est à jour!”
