The Rialto: A Fading Treasure

SOUTH PASADENA, CA — A student from South Pasadena High School could have created a documentary on anything but chose to highlight the state of the Rialto Theatre. Following up on the history and the future of the theatre has become a passion for her and the film was presented at a town meeting the other week.

The attached video is sad but most interesting and professionally presented! Have the owners/leasers and City Father’s contacted Pasadena’s famous stars of show business, to join a fund raising program for its restoration?
A big thanks Ms.Gontz. FriendsoftheRialto the first job is simply to preserve it! I was inside a couple years back for a party. The plasters crumbling, the seats are sagging. It needs fixing up and preserving before it can serve any purpose.
