I have a hunch these are from the Dickinson (Now AMC) Penn Square 10 in OKC, and when I say hunch I mean I’m like 99% sure.

I mean I honestly haven’t seen a movie there in at least 7 years. I know it got remodeled at some point. It has a great location! And people there aren’t even going to know the difference between 1st and 2nd run if there are only 4 other screen in town.

I can’t imagine that this place didn’t do well. I haven’t lived there in a long time but when I did It was always busy. Again, it had NO competition. Little tiny shoe box hallways though.

They have removed every other row of seats in each auditorium and replaced them with tables… weirdest thing ever.

Austin Klososky commented about Admiral Twin Drive-In Consumed by Fire on Sep 8, 2010 at 2:56 am

When I saw a movie there in April the projectors were so dim that it pretty much just seemed like we were sitting in a field with a bunch of other cars listening to the radio… couldn’t see anything. Hopefully they can get some new bulbs if/when they rebuild.

It was one HUGE screen tower with two sides. Very large drive in complex… held at least 1000 cars. Did great business too… The Outsiders was filmed here in the 80’s. They play it every once in a while and it normally sells out.

They have made a statement that there was nothing in the screen tower.

I just moved to OKC from Tulsa and live very near the 20 screen Tinseltown in OKC, I remember it being one of the Cinemark Neon 90’s catastrophes but it apparently just got flooded and then remodeled and it is beautiful now, very similar looking to the Cinemark Tulsa. Also beautiful is the 5.50 general admission and 3.75 matinees. All you have to do is brave the ghetto that surrounds it!

I am really starting to enjoy Cinemark. But anyways, I’m quite shocked that they aren’t going to close the BA 8 (Or The Ghetto 8 as tulsa theatre operators call it) I’m betting it at least becomes a second run house.

My buddy and I got stranded in New Mexico on our way home from Phoenix, I wanted to make sure we at least made it to a town with a movie theatre, we didn’t, but the on the way home we decided to drop by this place anyway… It was a sad discovery to see it was closed.

The outside looked to be in very nice condition. We peeked in the window and there was a one sheet for The Blind Side in the now playing poster case. Sign in the window said CLOSED PERMANENTLY.

OPEN under Starplex Theatres. Saw it this weekend. Basically in the same parking lot as the equally ugly AMC Crossroads 16.

I went here instead of the Warren this weekend because the Warren was sold out. Although Crossroads is one of the ugliest multiplexes i’ve been to, the presentation was very, very good in the main house when I saw Valentines Day on sunday. Fantastic sound.

Is this theatre the same design as the Springfield 8? Was it built by Dickinson?

Is it a stereotype that theatre workers are rude?

I think you can only be so polite when you deal with the number of people Box Office cashiers deal with, I mean when I have a very busy night I’m typically not focussing on being polite so much as working quickly through the line.

The ONLY time I’ve ever heard of this is when the studio sends their own security for a sneak-peak. Most bags are checked for cell phones, cameras, etc. Which are not allowed at all during a sneak. It is a simple deterrent of film theft.

Austin Klososky commented about RealD Projectors Debut at Six Dickinson's on Friday on Mar 1, 2009 at 12:06 pm

No, but it’s possible. I figured out where these projectors came from though, Dickinson removed all of the digital projectors except for one at the Chenal 9 and installed 35MM projectors, and then distributed the digital ones throughout the chain.
