I visited this area a couple years ago. I found Dino’s Pizza at 837 Elizabeth Ave., Reve Health Food Store at 839 Elizabeth Ave., which means the vacant lot next to the health food store would be 841. This building has been demolished.
The history of the building is:
W.T. Bean & A. Davidson Druggists 1870-1875;
Lawman & Davidson Druggists 1875-1979;
Vanscayor Corner Drug Store 1880s;
Chicago Store – Variety Store J.N. Clouse 1904-1910;
Scenic Theatre – Dave Mitchell 1910-1914, John Kendall 1914-1917;
Kendall Theatre – John Kendall family 1917-1970s;
Prairie Town Collectibles – Fine Arts Studio & Gallery and Antiques 1986.
The building is owned by a relative of John Kendall who also owns and runs the antique store to the left (on the other side of the vacant lot). He uses the building for storage. He says that he has a row of seats, the projector, and other items from the old theater.
Inside the store, near the front entrance, there are 10-15 framed photos of the building when it was a theater. There are exterior and interior photos. If you get to Chesterton, stop in the store and take a look at these pictures.
Hey Lee. I was one of the RHPS regulars back in the mid-1980s (along with Betzi and the Celluloid Jam). I enjoyed your comment and would love to read your script some day. The best part about being in the cast was getting to hang out in the Oriental every weekend. It’s such an amazing theater.
Building is still sitting empty and boarded up. From the front doors, you can still see that the lobby (and concession stand) are still intact. New photo posted today.
Sadly, the screen and all signs of the old drive-in are gone.
The Grand Opening of The B Theatre was Saturday, April 8, 1911. See the photos for opening night advertisements.

Currently, the building appears to be vacant.
The building is now occupied by the Law Office of David E. Robinson, Sr.
Krush Nutrition is now in the lobby of the theater. The marquee has been changed to “Time” instead of “Times”. Not sure why the “s” was removed.
