Call me crazy my favourite CENTURY THEATER VERY MUCH LIKE THE WHITMAN but always treated as third class THE shore , Whitman AND york all on the same strip.The York was centurys best Disney house so the bookers would book r rated movies.
THIS THEATER IS VERY MUCH LIKE THE CENTURY ROOSEVELT FIELD THEATER LOCATED AT THE MALL ON LONGISLAND AND THE CENTURY GREEN ACHERSIN VALLY STREAM .ALL 3 MUST HAVE BEEN BUILT AROUND THE SAME TIME
Walter Read ran this theater in its hayday and ran it well , the second floor has one large office that the president of Walter Read used then later by the district managers of CINEPLEX ODEON. What an office full bar master bath and an office size not seen in Manhatten.

The best theater on long island for many years one of the few well run UA houses.Stood online around the parking lot many of times.
Not mentioned is that UA ran this theater for many years when it was a movie house, when it was closed by UA it was a reduced price house.
