I was under the impression that the Yeadon was demolished— any info?? I see it is listed still as “closed”…
If it wasn’t demolished has anything been removed for preservation??I need to take a ride to Yeadon and see for myself what is there….

I have seen many shows there and some movies…“The song remains the same” (82)
The Pretenders (84)
Keith Richards, Pat Benatar, Bob Dylan ( 89 or 90)
And others..
I would love to see another concert there before this decade is over…tickets can be pricey these days..
I have always loved this venue for its sound and seating..
Some local transportation available…
One can get there from the 102 trolley which runs from 69th to Sharon Hill as a last stop until after midnite on weekends if one chooses not to drive. One can also stay in the Springfield area at some cheap motels on Balt. Pike and take the 109 bus to the venue in 69th st. One can also take 101 trolley to Media PA from 69th st. where there is also a motel…these locations are all in Delaware county and all within 8 miles of 69th street with Media being the furthest.

Thanks for that info— I am assuming this was where the Salvation Army in Darby is now located??
Incredible that something that lavish existed in this location. Such a shame it is still not in existance for the residents to enjoy.

What is in the place of the Manor location today? I live near this area now but am not aware that a theater existed here until recently……

I went religiously to this theater and the Waverly in Drexel Hill as a kid and a young adult….very fond memories…
Hopefully this will be reopened for it’s original purpose….

My mom remembers 3 movie theaters she attended weekly back in the 30’s and 40s right on Lancaster Ave. Her cool stories are filled with fond memories..
Those were the days….
As far as the McPharms opening up like fast food chains..it is a crime and extremely tiring to see —I love how our local McDrugstore that is located every .8 miles in Delaware County has a direct linoleum path now right to the Pharmacy ..too many trumped up prescriptions are the cause of oversaturation — maybe when this dies down they will all crumble like a house of cards… what a waste of resources…

I love this site..thanks to people who want to keep art alive and preserve our real timeless treasures. If I had the resources, I’d snap up the Lansdowne theater— this was one I fondly remember going to see many films until its closing in the 80’s. Now it stands in limbo as well….
Save the Boyd!! :)
