Coyote Drive-In

The Coyote Drive-In opened in May of 2013 featuring three screens and parking ramps that can park 1,000 cars. It also features Coyote Concessions with a full menu and a pavilion with outside seating. The drive-in is open seven days a week at 6 p.m. It shows a double feature on all three screens every night. It was founded in 2011 by four men who envisioned a simple place to escape the chaos of everyday living and hang out with friends and family. As an added bonus you could enjoy a cold one together and admire the stars shining bright up above. The Coyote Drive-In founders have been in the hospitality business for decades. One partner, Brady Wood, has been creating entertainment concepts since he was in college (Green Room, Trees, Gypsy Tea Room and Jeroboam among others). Another partner, Glenn Solomon, grew up in the theater business and his family owned over 50 drive-ins and many hard top theaters (Gulf States Theaters).

The Coyote Drive-In is collaboration between Coyote Theatres, the Tarrant Regional Water District (Landlord), Trinity River Vision Authority (master planner of the neighborhood), the City of Fort Worth (who has been incredible to work with) and many other stakeholders.

Have been there once. Love the layout but its a bad location with too many neons from downtown Fort Worth to watch a dark movie. Saw Conjuring 2 there and could not see most of the movie! Drive-in screens need darkness to view not a bunch of outside lights. Must try the Lewisville location soon.

Coyote tried expanding into Alabama and North Dallas (Lewisville) but, sadly, they did not find success with the Lewisville location now demolished after only 2 years in operation and the Alabama location sold and operated by another firm. This original Fort Worth location is the last man standing and is packing in the crowds. They have since added live music and food trucks to their repertoire. I, personally, don’t have issues with the aforementioned ambient light from surrounding areas interfering with the feature presentation (but then again I park on the 2nd/3rd row whenever I come here).

It is a tough drive coming here from Plano during Friday rush hour but it’s a drive I’ll gladly take in order to help this fabulous drive-in stay in business!
