Paris Theatre 243 Bourke Street, Melbourne, VIC 1965 – Previously the Cleopatra & Lyceum

Cleopatra opened in TODD AO on Feb 28, 1964 and ran until April 16, 1965. When the run of “Cleopatra” ended The theatre was then re-named the Paris and “The Sound of Music” played in 70mm to packed houses until it closed in Dec 20, 1967. “The Sound of Music” then moved over the road into the Esquire where it ran for another 9 months.
