The Culpeper Movies 4 opened around 2000. It was acquired by Regal in 2005 from R/C Theaters. It was closed on March 16, 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It reopened briefly in September 2020 until October 4, 2020. On February 13, 2021 it was announced the closure would be permanent.

I don’t know what’s worse – a featureless box or some clueless architect trying to create a “classic look” but failing miserably. I think they should stick with the box.

It almost looks like a make believe theatre you would see at an amusement park.

The city of Culpeper required this infill project to resemble the surrounding vintage buildings of its historic downtown, thus the faux-Vicotrian detailing. The design was by Kansas City-based TK Architects.

Regal Culpeper 4 closed along with all of the circuit’s other locations on March 16, 2020 for the COVID-19 pandemic. It remained closed for most of the remainder of the year, opening in September of 2020 before shutting down again on October 4, 2020. The city terminated its lease with Regal on February 13, 2021 making the closure permanent.
