I think this theatre later was known as the Towne Theatre and showed second run films for $1.

If I’m not mistaken, this theatre had a pair of Bauer U2 35/70 mm projectors installed.

The Abbott Theatre opened in 1950, according to that year’s construction reports in Boxoffice. It was a Dipson circuit house.

There’s currently a Napa Auto Parts store at 1298 Abbott Road, and its building doesn’t have any resemblance to the theater building in the photos. The Towne Theatre must have been demolished.

Yes it was, I think around 1990, a sad day.

My Uncle, Joseph Zebrun was the manager when they showed movies! This was great for me as a child because my my dad, Andrew Zebrun Jr. took me everywhere! At Disney World, I met Walt, and shook his hand! If anyone wants to know more, the ticket lady was Mary, I think? We miss the Towne Theater!

I think my mom worked for Joe before she bought the Town? Yes Mary worked in ticket booth. Miss the Town was a blast growing up there.
