In Koekelberg district near Molenbeek is the second great church of Bruxelles, La Basilique de Koekelberg. In the district nearby Ganshoren is the Avenue Charles Quint, a commercial street where the Basilic Cinema was opened in the 1930’s.
In the 1950’s the owners had opened the Super Cine in district Berchem Saint Agathe. Like many suburbian cinemas it had 2 programmes a week. The Basilic Cinema closed in 1971 became a retail store, now a GB Express, the entrance is still recognisable.
