Gaither Theatre showing “The Wreck of the Mary Deare”

The Lyric Theatre was operating prior to 1941, and continued with that name until at least 1950. Listed as being located on Main Street, it fronted on Route 355 near the railroad.

Later renamed Gaither Theatre, it was demolished in the 1970’s.

The address stated, Main St., is wrong. The theater was located at the intersection of Rt. 355 and E.Diamond ave in Gaithersburg. Md. The railroed tracks were just a few feet south of the theater.

Chronological history with both Lyric & Gaither owner’s & projectionist’s names, 1990/1991 fire, so not demolished in the `70s as written.
