One of several area drive-in theatres that were operating in the Raleigh vicinity.

The Center Drive-In was opened on April 20, 1956 with Jack Webb in “Pete Kelly’s Blues” & John Derek in “The Outcast”. It closed in 1985. It has been demolished.

There was also the Capital Drive-In Theatre which was on North Boulevard(aka Capital Blvd.) in North Raleigh just minutes from the Raleigh Beltline that was not listed on this site.

The Center Drive-In theatre opened on US 70 East on April 20th, 1956 with “Pete Kelly’s Blues” in CinemaScope and “The Outcast” with gifts for the kiddies. Grand opening ad posted
