Carolina Theatre

The Carolina Theatre was one of the original buildings to be built on Trade Street. The theatre seated 425 but was a very non descript theatre and it was one of the early theatres of Rock Hill. The Carolina Theatre opened in the early-1930’s and closed in the late-1950’s.
The building is still standing and is used for retail purposses. Any further information on the Carolina Theatre would be appreciated.

According to this page (which includes the same two pictures and additional information), everything that was on Trade Street was demolished in 1976 for the construction of Dave Lyle Boulevard: http://www.scmovietheatres.com/rockhill.html

Seems like Rock Hill could have restored some theatres.

Listing for this theatre should be merged with the Palmetto’s listings since it’s the same building. It closed in 1954
