Colonial Theatre

The Colonial Theatre opened in March 1915 in the Shedden Building, which was built sometime before 1867 and had previously housed the Gregory woolen mill. It was located on Bridge Street, near the bridge.

On December 19, 1917 an ad appeared in the local paper stating "The Colonial Theatre is no longer associated with the Clinton Theatre". On December 30 the theatre fell victim to a large fire. Soon after the damaged front wall was removed due to safety concerns. The remainder of the building was taken down later that year as the weather permitted.
