The Pen Mar was opened in 1959 with seating listed at 449 for a single screen. It was twinned by 1975 with seating increased to 562. By 1984 it was a four-plex with seating listed at 779, with the smallest auditorium seating 100 and the largest 269.
The theater was last operated by Landmark Cinemas playing first run attractions, and was closed in 2012.

Here is an early photo of the Pen-Mar Theatre. According to the caption below the photo, the Pen-Mar opened on December 19, 1956.
Theatre status should now read closed. The Pen-Mar closed on October 4, 2012 and was replaced by the new Landmark 7 Penticton.

Just to note, the Pen-Mar is no longer listed on the Landmark website since it closed nearly six months ago, so its status should now read closed, not open.
