Functions: Movies (First Run)
The AMC Randhurst 12 held a soft opening on April 20, 2011, one day before the closure of the AMC Randhurst 16. The first show was “The Godfather”, followed by a slate of other favorite movies. The grand opening is scheduled for April 29, 2011. It is the centerpiece of the redeveloped Randhurst Village. The new complex is the first AMC location to achieve LEED certification.
All projection is 4k digital, and several screens are 3D and simulcast capable. Screens are wall-to-wall. One screen is an AMC ETX. The Hollywood Deco-style lobby features a ticket counter instead of box offices, a cafeteria-style concession stand called "The Marketplace" featuring ice cream, Coca-Cola Freestyle soda fountains, and other unusual offerings, and a MacGuffins bar. It also features a polished concrete floor in contrast to the typical carpet.
Its auditoria feature a variety of seating arrangements, with all red leather stadium seats. The majority of seats are high-back rockers with flip-up arms and stationary seats. The back row of each auditorium has home theatre-style seats also with flip-up arms and ample legroom, and along one side of the auditorium are curving, lounge style ‘box seats’ arranged around a table. The discomfort of front-row seats is balanced by home style electric reclining chairs.
