The twelve-screen Grande at Strawberry Hill was built by Cineplex Odeon and was opened by Loews Cineplex on December 18, 1998. It was taken over by Cineplex Entertainment in 2003.

On December 18th, 1998, 39 new movies screens opened in the Vancouver area on the same day. Just for the record, though I am on a partial sabbatical, the entire thing is currently known as Cineplex Cinemas Strawberry Hill.
To correct anyone, this theatre has been operating under Cineplex Entertainment since 2003. Loews Cineplex actually opened this theatre since the original Cineplex Odeon folded as an independent company in 1998.
This theatre’s opening movies include The Prince of Egypt (Digital), Psycho (Digital), Meet Joe Black (Digital), Babe: Pig in the City (Digital), Jack Frost (Digital), Kitchen Party, Big and Harry, Very Bad Things, Elizabeth, Life is Beautiful (Digital), and Waking Ned Divine (Digital).
