Corner House Cinema

Located in the suburb of Moortown, 3 miles north of the City Centre. Opened Monday 28th November 1938 with Robert Taylor in “A Yank at Oxford” it also had a restaurant and ballroom; there were shops on the ground floor. It closed on Saturday 6th January 1940 and never showed films again. It was used as a casino from 1968 to 2008. The building still stands in October 2021.
