Royal Picture House

Located at the corner of Arthurstone Terrace & Erskine Street. The Picture House was opened in the early-1910’s. It was designed by architectural firm MacLaren, Soutar & Salmond Alterations were carried out in late-1916/early-1917. The proscenium was 36 feet wide. It was renamed Royal Picture House in 1931 following alterations by architectural firm Allen & Frisken and was equipped with a Western Electric(WE) sound system. Closed in 1961 it became an independent bingo club and in 1986 it became a Top Rank Bingo Club. Later becoming a furniture store. Demolished between 2006-2008 there are now flats on site.
