Walkington Theatre opened on 22nd August 1986 next to Karrtha College, and in the same building as the Karratha Public Library. The Walkington Theatre closed in(2011?) after been flooded following heavy rain, and was demolished in mid-July 2015, and replaced by the planned Pilbara Tafe expansion. The theatre has been replaced by the Moonrise Cinema.
