The long-gone Bellflower Theatre was located on Somerset (now Bellflower) Boulevard and opened on March 20, 1923 with Thomas Meighan in “Back Home and Broke”. The Film Daily Year Book of 1927 listed the theatre with 500 seats. It was closed in March 1930 when the New Bellflower Theatre opened nearby.
The 1932 maps show the theatre converted to a store and a new theatre (later called the Nubel Theatre then Holiday Theatre), constructed in 1929, on the other side of the street. From a study of the Year Books, the newer theatre was also called the Bellflower Theatre until it became listed as the Nubel Thetare in 1949.
