Cinema Al Corso

Cinema Al Corso is in the city centre in Reggio Emilia, in the Emilia-Romagna region of northern Italy.

It is not known when this cinema first opened, but it re-opened in 2008 to great fanfare; I believe a management team rented it from its owner, Adalberto Bianchi (who at one time also owned the Alexander, D'Alberto, Ambre and Radium).

However, having closed for its summer break in June 2016, it appears that it might not re-open. Apparently, Mr Bianchi is unwilling to renew the lease while he contemplates re-opening it himself.

A complication is that the NEC digital projector is owned by Garbi Inc., a company that ran the cinema until 2014.

When I visited, in September 2016, a notice in the empty poster case said that the cinema was “closed for summer break”.
