In Modena, in the Emilia-Romagna region of northern Italy, the Cinema Olympia opened in 1954. It had a stadium-plan auditorium with acoustic ribbed walls and a cove-lit ceiling.
The Cinema Olympia closed in 2006. Reports suggest some demolition work has been carried out, leading to fears for the building’s stability. However, in September 2016, when I visited, it looked pretty much complete, albeit boarded up.
