White City

White City was an amusement Park that first opened in the Supreme Court Gardens, to the south west corner of Mounts Bay Road and William Street, operating between World War I(1914?) and 1929. Also known as Ugly Land and Cooee City! Operated by the Ugly Mens Association. There may have been screenings of movies there! White City was closed in 1929 before the state’s centenary celebration!

The site was demolished(date unknown?), and became Mounts Bay Road carpark(1960’s or 1970’s?). The site is now Elizabeth Quay Bus station and train station, and Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre! The Supreme Court Gardens are still there!
