Opened as the Belle Vue Cinema on 23rd September 1920 and was owned by Michael Prendegast. It was popular with troops owing to its close proximity to the Collins Barracks. It was converted into a dance-hall in the late-1920’s and renamed the Gaiety Ballroom.

Over 30 years later Seamus Quinn bought the place and resurrected it as a cinema opening on 18th April 1965. It was renamed Cameo Panorama Cinema in 1967 and had a children’s cinema club in 1972. It was the first cinema in Cork to have Dolby Sound installed. The closing date for the cinema is uncertain.
