This 422 populated town only had 2 theaters and an opera house during its ages, but the most popular theater of the town is the Pearl Theatre in which however, takes back to when an opera house was built known as the “Pearl Opera House”. Unfortunately, the word “Pearl” was named after Mrs. Thomas' son-in-law. The house owned by Mr. and Mrs. Thomas along with some carpenters then constructed and built the Opera House until it was complete in early-October 1904. It was then opened days later and was a huge success.
In 1917, the Pearl Theatre was built and opened to the public while the Pearl Opera House continued to operate for another few decades. The Pearl Theatre during its earlier days not only focused on motion pictures, but also held sporting events as well.
I can’t find too much information about it, but surprisingly, this theatre continued to operate for more than 6 decades. And at the time, it is still in operation as a music-concert (type of) house from as late as 1975.
