This theatre was constructed sometime between 1908 and 1914, replacing an earlier wooden restaurant and tenement house. It was likely built by the owner of the restaurant, which remained on the corner.

The theatre was on the second story of the new building, a three story brick structure with a storefront on the corner, and a long narrow entrance hall on the west side. If this was the theatre ‘lobby’, the address would have been 102.

The Cox’s Theatre remained in operation on the 1927 map, and was demolished and replaced by the Penn Theatre, likely around 1940.
