The Bungalow Theatre dates back to 1909 in the Vale Malheur Enterprise, Sanborn Maps 1911 and The American Motion Picture Directory 1914-15.

In 1912 the Enterprise reported the Bungalow Theatre was fire proof in every way with required exits and a operating room lined with asbestos and tin.

On July 3, 1914, the Bungalow Theatre, while closed, caught fire, said to be caused by a discarded cigar. Most of the damage was done by water and the insurance had expired in June. Since owner I.B. Quisenberry was planning to open the new Rex Theatre in October the Bungalow Theatre wasn’t rebuilt.

In 1919 the old Bungalow Theatre building was repaired and opened as a dance hall. The corner building located there now, previously home to the Masons, was built in 1951.
