Located in the East End side of Glasgow in the Townhead district. Opened as the Shakespeare Music Hall variety theatre on October 10th, 1881, it went through various ownership and name changes until being closed down by the police on October 17th 1906 due to the hosting of illegal boxing matches.

In November 1907, the building was leased by Robert Pringle and reopened as a cine-variety theatre. Around 1918 cinema screenings ceased and it reverted to being a full-time variety theatre.

On January 24th, 1952 a fire destroyed the backstage area and the building was demolished in 1956. The land was used as a car park until an apartment block was built on the site in 2021.
