A reference to the Garland Theatre first appeared in the Bear Valley Leader in October 1928. An unnamed movie theatre was shown at 49 Factory Street on the Sanborn Maps of 1930.
On February 2, 1930, the Leader reported Millan Peck has taken over the Garland Theatre and has arranged for silent films while sound equipment was being installed. Mr. Peck said films will be secured after their Salt Lake and Ogden runs. Mr. Peck may have renamed the theatre as beginning in August 1930 the Paramount Theatre advertisement appeared in the Leader. The Paramount Theatre was also reported in the Salt Lake Tribune after a fire on December 29, 1932. The Paramount Theatre in Garland was listed until May 1936 and then in September 1936 the Garland Theatre advertisements begin to appear.
Saturday nights were Pal Night at the Garland Theatre: Admission 25-cents; Pal, 5-cents extra.
The Garland Theatre advertised regularly in the Leader through May 1944 and was last listed in Film Daily Year Book 1947 with 225 seats.
