Newspaper Kaikan Cinema

This started life as the 200-seat single-screen Sky Cinema, but its opening date has not yet to be found at this time. However, right after the Newspaper Kaikan Grand Theater closed its doors in July 1987, the Sky Cinema closed for refurbishing for a short time and reopened as a twin theater under the name “Newspaper Kaikan Cinema” with 300 seats at Screen 1 and 222 seats at Screen 2.

The Newspaper Kaikan Cinema closed for the final time following major damage from the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake on January 17, 1995 with Arnold Schwarzenegger in “Junior” at Screen 1 and Jackie Chan in “Drunken Fist 2” at Screen 2.
