Opened in 1974, the Metro Market Street was a twin screen cinema operated by Metro company South Africa. The opening films were “Thats Entertainment” in Metro 1 and Jack Nicholson in “Chinatown” in Metro 2
It was very successful until the late-1980’s when it was closed.
