Located in the lower part of the city of Huambo (previously named Nova Lisboa). The Cine Ruacana was opened around 1939. It was closed and abandoned during the post-election armed conflict in 1992 when it received considerable damage. In March 2023 plans were announced to rehabilitate the building and convert it back into cinema and cultural use. The Cine Ruacana is considered to be a heritage building.
