Located in the higher part of the capitol city on what was originally named Avenida Do Hospital. The Cine-Teatro Restauracao is a very large Art Deco style building. Designed by architect brothers Joao Garcia de Castilho & Luis Garcia de Castilho. The building also contained a restaurant bar which had a dance hall on two levels and a terrace on the roof. The theatre was very popular, especially for live show and concerts with artists such as French singer Charles Aznavour appearing on its stage.
