Cinema City grew last year
Author: Ing. Juraj Misun, PhD. According to the press release the Israeli company Cinema City International saw a growth in admissions last year. The largest cinema exhibitor in Central Europe and Israel sold 2.5 percent more tickets compared to 2011. More than 36 thousand visitors found their way to a Cinema City site in one of the seven markets.
On the most important market Poland the admissions fell almost by 10 percent to 13.5 million. This drop was compensated on the home market in Israel, where the RavHen and Planet theaters sold 20 percent more tickets (4.42 million). With higher ticket prices, Israel will probably help the company to hold its profitability in 2012.

Bargain movie theater Maxi Saver 12 closes
WEST MIFFLIN, PA — After 20+ years in business, the Maxi-Saves Cinemas has closed. No comment from Carmike on the closure of the cinema, popular for its $1 flicks.

Studio Movie Grill replacing Mez, theater at EpiCentre
CHARLOTTE, NC — Studio Movie Grill is taking over the EpiCentre Theaters and converting it to their standard dine and view format. The center is undergoing a $15 million renovation and the new theater should be open in late February.

Loew’s Kings rebuild begins after three decades of decay

BROOKLYN, NY — The long dormant Loew’s Kings is finally making a comeback with the beginning of a multi-year restoration plan. By 2015, they hope to be producing 200 live events per year.

Las Vegas’ Krave Massive To Open LGBT Movie Theater
