Yes it is but i enjoyed it.It was a time to chat with the girls,If they were real good they did everything for me,except count the money.About the time you would finish Box office, the concessionstand girl would come in with her money.Since we never had Cash registers or COMPUTERS it is amazing we hardly came up short. But like you said LOEWS had a separate Concession that you never had to worry about.
Do we have filmmakers any more that can just make movie without all the gimmicks ? Oh, I should have know better, your moviegoing population is mainly between the ages of 14 and 24.
Nice pictures guys. I came up in the business where after the last show you picked up the boxoffice girl went in the office and check out with real BOR’S.An adding machine and a type writer.Sorta glad i didn’t have computers.And guess what we did okay.
We had the same theatre in Augusta,THE ART THEATRE that before it changed its name to Cinema 1 in the late seventies,it played Adult and foreign films,but i never thought the soldiers station at Fort Gordon,Ga. Ever cared about that fare.But I guess you guys did. Art theatre is on CT.
“ROCKY HORROR” 4 year run? You must be talking about a Midnight Show.We had a Wild one at REGENCY I,II.and III. It is on CT.We almost lost our Business License.Story is in the Regency I.II.and III site.
Never heard of that movie in 1984 photo,noticed a “MAN THAT LOVED WOMEN” in the one sheet frame,wonder if they could be talking about the Burt Reynolds comedy? It was owned in the 50’s by Statesville Theatre Corp.
Sage Theatre was owned by Westland Theatres located at 291 Golden Gate, San Francisco. H.V.Rotus Harvey was the President. Hannah Oppie was the booker in 1956.

Lettering makes it look like a GCC theatre.

Loews Theatres in Boston in 1956 were ORPHEUM and State.
It was not a Loews Theatre in 1956.I know that much Tls.

The Delta theatre was owned by Collier-Jackson Circuit out of Cleveland, Miss. Theatres in Arkansas and Miss.

It was a Wilby-Kincey Theatre in 1956.Along with the Bijou,Park, and Tennessee Theatres.
