Okay It was a Cumberland Amusement Company theatre.Located in McMinnville,Tenn. The owner/President was Cowan Oldham.Wonder if that is how the theatre got its name?
Little bit of Help Jack, And it ain’t much is that the Dayton Theatre was owned by the Cumberland Amusement Company in 1956. Cowan Oldham was the president. Located in the Park theatre building in McMinnville.Tenn.
The Carroll Amusement Company was located in Carrollton, Georgia.
J.E.Duncan was the film buyer. It was owned by Oscar Roberts Jr, J.Ebb Duncan and A.Q.Dobbs. The film booker was Hewlett C.Jones.
Starlite 6 drive-in is a gem and Atlanta’s only Drive-in.When our local paper here in Augusta lists the ten best things to do in the state the Starlite Drive-in made the list.Almost anyone heading to Flordia going thru Atlanta make time to see this Drive-in.
Just an odd sounding name didn’t know if it might have been mainly a town that refugees from Southeast Asia might have settled after the fall of South Vietnam.
What nice looking theatre. It was a Cumberland Amusement Company Theatre back in the late 50’s.

How did the tour go?
I FELL IN LOVE. If it is so special to you why don’t you write more than what you did above.
Always hate to see a theatre go the smut route.
Why would they keep a movie playing after everyone in town saw it.“ARTHUR” was a great film, but we never kept playing it to an empty house.
The Marrh Theatre in North Augusta,S.C. had seats for couples. It is on CT.
Another one for Carmike.
thanks T Holloway, nothing like the theatre business.

Thanks phreddybaby for a great story.
Oh,okay We have some of that in Georgia with Native American names.Thanks.
Thanks Sandy R.I never liked radio sound.
Yes,I saw that 1974-1986 Plitt.I am pretty sure that was an ABC THEATRE in 1974.I don’t think PLitt came in until 1978 or so.I worked for both chains.
Maybe if so many of US didn’t sneak into the Drive-in,more would be open.
It just seems on CT they close more, than open.Tlsloews in Nashville has noticed the same trend ,right or wrong.
Thanks Tntim, yes, the Knoxville paper has LENOX.

Sounds like it is located in Vietnam.
I worked for ABC THEATRES then PLITT when they bought us out. This does not seem like your average Plitt theatre!
Well,if CARMIKE still has it I bet it is a dump or already closed!
And I wish I would have went here when in Tampa instead of that nightmare of a Drive-in the FUN-LAN Drive-in.
