Yeah, but i think what we have here is an IMAX rip off.We don’t have no seven story screen like C Walczak was writing about.Atlanta would have it,but not here.
Way to go JJD, you would have made great theatre manager, because like this old theatre dawg; i was always concerned about what was on the screen and how to make moviegoing great for our paying customers who in the 70’s thought 3.00 a seat was too high.
Nick, forget it.Doggone it,I had those ads in my hands just a couple of days ago and thought these need to be on CT not in my theatre album.I took them out and i think they got tossed in my stack of movie ads which pile up to the size of the Atlanta phonebook. That many. When i come across them i will get them down to you in Fla.I should have taken the time to put them in a place where i could find them.
I think the “SCARS OF DRACULA” had Christopher Lee in it.Maybe Peter Cushing? Since we are never on at the same time i submitted the PAL THEATRE in Fairfax,S.C. it is on CT now.Check it out i left you a post and i dropped a letter in the mail to the Nobles.
Larry 2.I sorta thought that way too or these guys are more hardcore theatre employee than I ever was.Heck, I sorta enjoy keeping up with the Adventures at AMC.Beats CNN.
“Dodgeball” was playing with “Spiderman”.I found the pictures i took and really the front of the theatre didn’t look that bad.I have seen worse.Admission was 3.00,not 2.50 but still a deal for first run.The inside was tacky .Checkerboard Square tiles Black and white in the ceiling and the same for the floor.
Nick Di, You have been to this theatre and took pictures of the inside and wasn’t this the old theatre Charlie fell thru the floor.I know if you can find the pictures others sure would enjoy seeing them.
Basically,I am not into the new wave of Moviegoing. But Regal refitted the Regal 20 here in Augusta and some moviegoers said it wasn’t real IMAX even though they advertise IMAX.I guess one can tell?
Drive-in Mike,i see you played the GROOVE TUBE.We picked it up second run at the theatre i worked,National Hills a family theatre for the most part. Our City Manager saw the first few minutes and stood by the BOx office checking I.D. I did laugh myself silly. AT both the movie and Mr.Tinney.
THat 1982 picture with"SIX PACK" playing brought back memories, that is the only movie that we sold standing room only.thank goodness the Fire Dept, wasn’t around. I mean people paid 3.50 a seat to see Kenny Rogers and a bunch of kids.AND STOOD UP.
I found a picture to of the Dane Theatre.on the marquee it reads “SUMMER IN THE CITY” couldn’t find that movie title,so maybe it was a local production. My picture does not have Cultural Center sign on it.Nick, if you see this you have the picture cause you took it and sent it to me.
Hey, i have been by the Little Theatre back when the first “BATMAN” came out with M.Keaton as Batman. Have a picture of it at night, playing “BATMAN” with shows at 7:00 and 9:30.Glad its on CT.

In 1956 it was called the SKYVIEW AUTO DRIVE-In.parking 225 cars and was owned by STuler & Coe.
In 1956 i have it parking 500 cars and was owned by R.H.Bisenski as mentioned above.
Both 700 cars and Bernie Brooks are correct facts.
How could it open in 1975 and show movies in 1964.Am I missing something.Dates must be wrong.KenMc great ads again.
