Well,doggone It TSLOEWS Knoxville is big enough to have a NICK, TSLOEWS,ROBIN or Mike in that city. I have written alot on the Knoxville Theatres and I LIVE IN AUGUSTA,GEORGIA.
Yeah,we always sorta looked down on it and Georgia theatres when my gang was working.We knew ABC THEATRES towered over the locals. {weis being out of Savannah}. I thought you guys played GREASE first run at National Hills.
Plitt Theatre District Manager,who even treated Assistant Managers decent retires on Nov.8 1983. MARION BIGGS was good and decent district manager and loved the theatres of Columbia,S.C..
Of course another grand old Knoxville theatre gone in its place something called the WESTOWN Nine. Well, THE WESTOWN ULRA VISION theatre was a Plitt Theatre and in December of 1983 it was managed by Bruce Torbett.

I will be honest with you I never saw Titanic,seemed liked a three hour soap opera from i read about,There was another TITANIC movie i think called “REMEMBER THE NIGHT” i liked it alot better.

Well, If REGAL has it it’s lost all its ABC/PLITT Theatre glory. Dec.30 1983 sees Tim Mason manager. Another Great theatre man there was John Mackey,back in 70’s.

Lewis Tew was a showman like you just don’t see anymore. This manager had a “TOOTSIE” look-a-like contest sponsored by a top country station. The winner was a man who shaved his beard and legs to win the 85 dollars.[think they could have done better prize wise} oh, He did get a “TOOTSIE” wig,Hair Curlers.Girdle and make-up kit.
Manager Willie Freeman had the Dream of every theatre man, AWORLD PREMEIRE of “THE LORDS OF DISCIPLINE” The movie was filmed around Charleston. Gibbs Art Galery is getting the money at 25.00 a ticket.

You guys in K-town need to work up a history on the Plitt WESTOWN Ultra – Vision theatre in your mountain city. It deserves to be on CT.

December 1983 your manager was Jerry Hale and it was PLITT THEATRE.
In December 1983 the manager was Joe Taylor and the theatre was a PLITT THEATRE.
