ETA for Dolby Cinema is now Christmas Eve. That puts Point Break at being the first possible film there. Star wars would take the imax and I doubt they would put chipmunks 4 in dolby cinema
I think he is referring to this. http://www.theverge.com/2015/4/9/8373533/dolby-cinema-amc-prime-movie-theater-laser-projector
AMC will begin by converting existing ETX and AMC Prime sites into Dolby Cinema ones. It expects to have four by mid-May: in Los Angeles, Kansas City, Houston, and Atlanta. It plans to have 50 by the end of 2018, and 100 by the end of 2024.
Ok
Looks like amc will rebrand their prime and etx theatres as dolby cinema by the end of 2024….including the etx screen here.
Now this will be interesting since the movie theater in the past has been open on turkey day with all the big movie releases in addition to the eaterys…http://www.nj.com/bergen/index.ssf/2014/11/a_paramus_first_garden_state_plaza_paramus_park_to_open_on_thanksgiving.html#incart_m-rpt-1
This theater will face competition from Regal Cinemas when their new Paramus Park theater opens soon…
Not sure but check out the page for the grand opening of this theater, which happened nearly 7 years ago this weekend. I believe it’s the Atmos ETX screen. The Imax theater is second and one of the single numbered theaters is third.
Does anyone know exactly how wide the largest screen here is?
Imax HFR 3D version of The Hobbit 2 is playing at this theater alongside the dolby atmos hfr 3d version of the hobbit, the regular 3d version, and the 2d version.
The shooter died of suicide acoording to news reports overnight; according to fandango.com, tickets are available but the rest of the mall will remain closed until tomorrow so that the evidence is cleared up.
The theater is closed due to a shooter on the loose in the mall.
how is gravity in atmos 3d?
Dbox will be installed for gravity on friday.
How is the reserved seating doing at this theater? If it proves to be successful, then it will bring it to other top grossing AMC plexes….This month marks one year since Dolby Atmos made its premiere with Brave, a great pixar movie that also sounds good. Since then, a dozen other theaters have converted some screens to Dolby Atmos, mostly in urban areas of NYC that are owned by Regal.
Amc wont own that theater. Maybe regal?

Google paramus park movie theater and it will have links.
Looks like the paramus park mall will have a new theater to compete against this one according to nj.com.
Price wise, this is the most expensive of the three AMC 16 plexers in northern NJ. If you ever want to know more about dolby atmos, then search the AVS Forum for it. Quite a few movies are coming out this year in it, including Star Trek Into Darkness, Oblivion, The Heat, and the Hobbit part II.
“Life of Pi” can assure old-timers that digital cinematography can be as beautiful as film. I’m not putting one format better than the other. It’s more spiritual than Hugo and Avatar, and it made me reflect on life. This is THE place around NYC to see that movie, other than Ziegfeld which is actually in NYC. (No I haven’t seen it yet at the Ziegfeld)
How was the movie, thebrat? I heard that this movie will be this year’s Hugo.
Came back from “Life of Pi” in 3D on the ETX screen (#3). Being a Dolby Atmos location for “Brave” (it no longer says this location is with Atmos on Dolby’s website, but it is still set up for the system) and “Life of Pi” being an Atmos film, this might be the place to see it in. Atmos wasn’t advertised, and the film was presented in at least 7.1.
And wow, what a place to see a movie. It’s everything the Tyson’s Corner 16 in McLean, VA wishes to be but isn’t. This is the superior theater. The ETX setup has two Sony 4K projectors (which at first I thought it wasn’t enough for a big screen like these types of theaters but produced outstanding pictures and clarity) in dual-projector mode for 3D. The sound was also massive and sometimes pushes the chairs. The seats were comfy, but a bit squeaky. Going to visit again someday.
nope.
Hey moviebuff82, did you go to a midnight showing of Dark Knight Rises at this theater?
Altered States comes out on Blu-ray in July, but unfortunately my home theater does not have Megasound.
