The building has been bought by the producers of the TV series, (The Block) known as Watercress Productions for $5.85 million from Alston Post Pty Ltd during 2013, this is a company associated with property developer Mr. Lloyd Williams. Watercress Productions would then make application to VCAT seeking to refit the building as six large dwellings over four levels to an Allan Powell-architect design. This would be promoted through a national TV series known as The Block.
