This location was announced today to be on Cinemark’s list to not only receive a 4K laser projection upgrade for its digital IMAX playback, but has also been confirmed to have its 70mm SR projector setup refurbished and prepared for a run of The Odyssey in July of 2026.
This will be the first time the SR projector will run film since Interstellar in 2014, where it had a three week run.
A manager let me up in their IMAX booth a few weeks ago to show a couple friends the pair of SR projectors. We both lamented that it would likely never run again - funny how things can change like that.
This theater was reopened as Apple Cinemas Pittsford Dine-In in November of 2023 with new reclining seats with tray tables to facilitate the dine in experience.
It retains the 9 screen layout of the previous Zurich operation with reduced seats in each theater to facilitate space for the servers delivering food to the theaters. Orders are placed via a QR code attached to each tray.
Each standard theater is equipped with laser projection and 7.1 surround sound. The ACX auditorium features laser projection and Dolby Atmos sound with 16 channels in the ceiling.
The theater features a full Burger Fi restaurant kitchen within with a modified Burger Fi restaurant menu available to the customers.
