Rossellini’s third film in his war trilogy that started with “Open City” and “Paisan” was a devastating look at a ruined Berlin at the conclusion of the war. The Italian Film Society of RI ran it at the Cable Car in 1983 and later as well in the Italian version. The German version, available on the DVD set and elsewhere is more authentic.
