Park Theatre

The Park Theatre was opened on August 8, 1927 with Karl Dane in “Rockies”. It closed in 1960. The Chattanooga Arts Theatre acquired the Park Theatre in 1963 with the intent to convert it to a performing arts facility. The building still stands in 2024, use unknown.

I may be wrong, but I thought in the 1960’s when I was in college that the Park Theater was replaced by a plumbing and piping business. My grandmother used to be an assistant type manager at the Park in the fifties, but I do not remember for how long.

In 1965 the Park was a dinner theater. My fraternity had our New Year’s Eve party there. It was an Independent Theater and may not have been sold to Martin Theaters.
