Located adjacent to Route 95 at Coogan Boulevard. (Route 27) in Mystic, a short distance from historic Mystic Seaport. The theatre was opened as a twin on October 3, 1973 with Maggie Smith in “Love, Pain and the Whole Damn Thing” and Ryan O'Neal in “Paper Moon. The shopping center where the cinema is located is a quaint imitation-Colonial style collection of businesses, many catering to the tourists who frequent the area.

It was renovated in 2015 when a 4th screen was added and it reopened December 17, 2015 as Mystic Luxury Cinemas.

I only went here once or twice. I saw the atmospheric and engrossing Tony Bui film made in Vietnam, Three Seasons back in May of 1999. It played here before it was shown in Providence, and I believe was reviewed/listed in the Providence paper.

While in Mystic a short while ago, we attended a showing of “The Hitchikers' Guide To the Galaxy”. There was nothing really outstanding about this theater (or the movie, either, for that matter.

I recently saw a movie here for the first time. The staff was polite, the restrooms were very clean, and the movie was great I highly recommend this theatre. I will return.

Finally found the place the other day on a cycling trip. It’s in Building 18, the last on the edge of the village. It’s like a barn and it fits in very well with the faux village feel. I saw it at 9pm, well after the crowds were gone. They also show live musical theatre for children as well.

It’s not Hoyts anymore, it’s Premier Arts Cinemas. And now the theatre is called Olde Mystick Village Arts Cinemas or VC 1-2-3.
