The Richland Theater opened on February 17, 1944. It was operated by the Midstate Amusement Corp. It stopped showing movies on March 13, 1960 when it screened Tab Hunter in “Damn Yankees” & Doris Day in “The Pajama Game”.

It became the home of the Richland Players from 1971. This theater was supposed to be sold in June of 2005 and converted to a Walgreens Drugstore but the deal didn’t go through. For now, it remains a live theater.
